Updates delete annotations

Everytime Adobe releases an update, my annotations are deleted ?? this has happened many times now. Luckily last week I remembered to save the file to my document cloud and that saved me.

However they still need to resolve the issue where files on "local" (my iPad) lose notes when the app is updated.

I love adobe reader, but I had to knock down two stars because this is yet to be resolved
